:)Hi All;
May be a little slow ou the uptake,but here gos.
To make your tool slide easy on the tool rest,spray a little topcoat on it [the rest] works perty slick. I have L.V.'s ss 6" tool rest,nice and smooooth. ;)

I apply a little CA glue to my rest occasionally! It makes my tools drag very nicely, thank you very much! [:D]

If you are using a skew, you may also try rounding the bottom edges. That will also help to reduce the dings. The wax is a good tip. If you have realy dinged your rest, a belt sander will take out the dings and return it to a true flat. Sometimes files can create valleys in the rest.
