That's my latest project, a slimline made from wood salvaged from the USS Constitution. So I'm about to put it on the lathe to turn between centers, and I suddenly realize that the bushings don't slip into the tubes like they do with other kits. Are there stepped bushings made for slimlines, or do I need to use my (bent) mandrel for this?

Thanks for tipping me on to Johnny. I should've checked him first, I'll take care of that tomorrow.

LEAP, send me a private message. The guy that got me the salvaged wood sent me a bunch of blanks. I'd be happy to send some your way. The only problem is that he cut them pretty small, so I doubt you'll be able to do anything that requires a bigger hole than 10mm.
