I received my package from Exotic Blanks with some of Toni's PC blanks. Really excited to get them turned, but thought I better get opinions on prepping them for turning.

Anyone have suggestions of what to do or what to watch out for? Should I soak them in thin CA as I turn them? I know...sharp tool and gentle hand. But what else?

I really don't want to screw one up considering the beauty and the cost.

An observation: The kaleido blanks appear to have the pattern run all the way to the tube.

The flower patterns use a base of "plain color" clay.

When making the pen, you don't want to cut through the pattern--which, on the flowers, COULD happen. But, if my vision is correct (Toni PLEASE correct me if I am wrong!!!), on the kaleidoscope blanks you will be able to sand as far as you wish, without damaging the pattern.

Just an observation--again, subject to correction by Toni!!!
