These might help.

Also in my signature line is a TBC vs Mandrel link. You should read that full thread.

Oh and my favorite caliper of all times.

You can tbc very successfully without bushings but I hate it personally.

Get some tbc bushings from penturners products or lazerlinez is my suggestion.

I will sometimes still use stock bushings and some work better than others, but you need to be a bit more careful.

Several places have calipers if you are only "borrowing" your friends. CSUSA, PSI, HF. I like the digital ones...JMHO, but have both the dial and digital types.

My friend is gonna give me a digital caliper .for free.he owe's me lol

Edstreet where did you get calipers that read ft/in???

That's not feet, that's fractional inches. This one also has a USB port on it as well :) 'ABS' is absolute.

Ed,
I thought your calipers had an AntiLock Braking System on them so they would not close too rapidly and cause bodily harm to errant fingers!

Sorry, no windows or doors. Sadly enough there are some features that I wish it had. Namely drill bit detection. i.e. you measure a tube and it gives you the drill bit needed, or you measure a drill bit and it tells you what size it is. Would have to do letter, number, fractional and metric. Should not be that difficult to do that. Might have to look for a programmable one :)

I do that the old-fashioned way. I measure one, and then look at my drill bit chart. It tells me the nearest size that drill bits are supposed to be.
