No great shakes here, but I wanted to share what I do. I hate it when the tube rolls or the newly painted round blank. This "jig" has helped. It also helps hold the tube to paint the part I have been holding easily.

I made it with nails hit into angled pre drilled holes. I used a dremel to cut off the heads.

I paint both the tube and the blank using Testors paint and Q tips. So far after adopting this technique (found on this site) I have not seen any hint of ghosting. I use two part epoxy from CSUSA to glue in the tube.

Mark, as you are painting both Blank and Tube, and using two part Epoxy,
How much oversize do you drill your Blank?
Great stand, it's Excellent.

I am simple, drill it on the lathe with Colt or Fisch drill bits of the correct size. I clear chips often and with the paint it fits smoothly with the epoxy glue's lubrication.
