About to turn my first couple of trustone blanks.

Do I need to paint the tube/hole?

If so, what color do you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your input.

It really depends on the blank. Many trustone are opaque, so no painting is needed. But some are translucent to a degree. I know the mexican agate benefits from reverse painting the blank black.

True, some are opaque and some are colors that it really won't matter if the brass shows through. Some Inlace Acrylester too is more opaque. My approach is, if I'm not sure, paint the hole and the tube. A little wait time is better than a lot of regret. JM2C
