I recently turned a pen using a Malachite tru-stone blank. As I was getting ready to clean the lathe I wondered if the shavings could be used at fillers in other projects. Much like brass filings, crushed torquoise, etc. It has a nice pale green color. I gathered it up and put it in a plastic bag. I'm going to give a try on a piece of scrap but thought I'd ask if anyone had ever done this.

Thanks!

I've only tried it once on a White Turquoise that had an unintentional grab. The chip was pretty small, so I tried filling with shavings and CA. I ended up with a gray blob when it was dry. I cut it out and mixed white pigment and 5 minute epoxy. That blended much better. It even passed the "wife Inspection".
