Because cigar pens and some others have double twist transmissions, I put a drop of CA on threads where the transmission screws into the lower tube to lock the transmission to the lower tube. This also allows you to adjust how far the point extends from the nib. The instructions I include say "to replace the ink cartridge unscrew the writing point (nib) end of the pen".

This trick prevents the user from unscrewing the transmission when twisting the pen in the same direction as the threads.

With all respect, this will not work for the Berea 8mm Euro with the double-twist transmission - it can only be replaced by screwing apart the center of the pen.

Nor does it work for the (now obsolete) Havana Ballpoint from CSUSA, as it must come apart at the center of the pen.

Of course, only mechanisms where the nib end can be unscrewed can be done this way.
