Hi. I just joined today and I am try to learn how to navigate this site. I would describe myself as a novice struggling for 12 years.
One thing I have never seen mentioned but I would like to share. Nothing is more frustrating for me is to be on the verge of what I consider some of my most successful project and see a crack traveling down the side. I have found that if I cut a small groove and then wind thread as much as possible with moderate application of super glue I can close the crack. Think of it, the tensile strength if a strand is not impressive but with multiple winds you are looking at up to 500 lbs pressure and the glue just shoals it in place. After finishing it looks quite appropriate and saves you from terminating you project by throughing some across the shop with some profound exclamations.the thread repair is the second band from the top
