'Fred' gave some advice on using MEK and polystyrene to stabilize soft wood.
It works. The soft wood I had problems with are now easier to turn and are easier to finish.
I also learnt that MEK is a powerful solvent (Fred warned about that) and it does dissolve epoxy, CA glue and a lot more.
Thanks Fred for the advice. A lot easier the vacuum etc.
