Texas flag kit advice?

Can anybody who's done the lazerlinez Texas kit give any advice or lessons learned along the way?

I didn't make the lazerlinez kit, but I did the Kallenshaan - best thing I can tell you is to carefully measure the field of blue on each side of the point of the star so it's equal in length in each direction.

the Kallenshaan kit I had was a bit longer on one side than the other, so I trimmed it down.
