Terrific, then WOW spalted maple

I was cutting some spalted maple tonight. I cut into a section that was an overgrown piece where a branch had broken off, then the tree repaired itself. I cut into this section and was really happy.

Then I cut them in the other direction, and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about the eyebrows on that guy? Thanks for letting me share this glorious moment!!

I'd like to see which parts of the blank is used. Could you give us a step by step with photos of the final pen.

Using the top vs. using the bottom will yield very different results. I really enjoy seeing the artistry and peoples use of the wood patterns.
