I suspect that each of us has a short list of people who have served to teach and mentor us in the art and craft of turning, and especially pen turning. I suggest that May 5, 2009 might be a good day for those of us who feel so moved to provide some editorial time to compliment and thank those who gave time, nuture, ideas, and patience to each of us over the past years. While it is National Teacher Appreciation day, for us, a Pen Turning Teacher Appreciation Day on the same calendar date seems appropriate. Please think on who you want to thank publically -- and on May 5, rise to the occasion and do it.
