My oldest Grandson's Eagle Scout Project was to build prototype barricades to go around the SR 71 on display at the March Airfield Museum.

At some point the lightbulb in my head went on and I began the process of making a few pens featuring this legendary aircraft.

I used a Cricut machine to cut out the silhouette on a pressure sensitive vinyl then placed it on a white tube for a Magnum Bolt Action Pen.

Two things learned:

1 - Give the resin PLENTY of time to fully cure.
2 - Use a premium vinyl so it sticks really well onto the tube.

Now to figure out what else I can do with this Cricut machine!

Bye

I was in the air in an F-16 off the coast of NJ the day they did the LA-NY record run on 3/6/90. Caught sigh of a contrail south of me and locked up a target going east, descending out of 60,000 feet and doing 1200 knots. No doubt in my mind what it was. Amazing sight.
