Squeak in JR Gents 2 RB

I had a client return a Jr. Gents 2 RB as it had a loud squeak in the lower barrel coupling. Upon examining it there was a loud squeal when you screw the metal nib into the plastic/metal thread coupling on the lower barrel. He has used it for a year and half so I would have thought it would have worn out any newness in the threads.. Any remedies here? Thanks Darrell Eisner
