Has anyone used one of those pen blank squaring jigs that mount to a disc sander and goes down the blank tube? They look like they would be unstable but I would just use it for a final clean up before assembly.

To clean up before assemble just stand the blank on end on a piece of 320 grit sandpaper and twist it.
USe the money you saved to buy more sand paper.

I use one that I made myself. On my small Craftsman disk sander, it is suitable for slimline blanks. When I made tje longer "Walmart" pens, it was too small.

I use one when my pen mill doesn't fit. It looks unstable, and it is a little scary to use until you get the hang of it. But it works faster than a pen mill (except where the blank is clamped and a drill press is used). Galanw
