Source for Alabaster and Soapstone

I have never tried turning either, but I would like to. The funny thing is my brother owns a marble and granite shop, but does not ever work with either type of stone and can't get it in small sizes, so no scraps.

I can't find a good site on Google, so where do you guys shop?

I don't know if you have a hobby lobby near you but they carry small bars of soapstone, enough to make about 4 pens for about $10.00. Just a thought.
