I see a glue seam right down the center of the left one .... That might be the cause of some issues, if you don't take care while turning, but it looks like this one might make it through ok. :)

That's not a glue seam, it's the coloring in the wood.

You sure? It's dead straight, starts at the far left and bisects everything on the way to the top right. It REALLY looks like a glue line.

Then again, I'm legally blind so .... :)

No, I promise it's not. I started with a square blank, with no cracks.
