Hi Folks,
While looking at all the pen kits that are available, sometimes I get distracted by all the great looking wood that is used on the kit. Has anyone ever come up with a picture that shows the different types and styles of pens made with a plain looking wood so that the actual pen kits are the main focus of the picture and not the wood that is around it? I hope that this is making sense.

If not like this, is there a picture of many of the different pens side by side? Regardless of the wood used.

Thanks

Rob,

Some people occasionally show a bunch of pens like you are talking about but that is not their point. The primary point of most pen turners pict posting is to showcase their (pen turning) work and ingenuity, not a comparison of pen styles.

For what you want - the best thing to do is get a catalog from PSI, CSUSA, BEREA and HUT and look at theirs. Their purpose is to showcase the different pen types and styles for sale to pen turners - just as you wish to see.

I think Berea has a downloadable catalog. But it would be worth it to go to these sites and request a catalog. They are good references.

Someone here in the last twelve months or so posted images of a lot of different pens for comparative purposes like you are talking about, although they were certainly not all in the same timber. I can't remember who it was and a quick search by me did not find it either. Someone will remember it.
