I'm new to the snakeskin pen making. Are there any snake types commercially available that are have better patterns for making pens that are thin enough to work well??
I was thinking about Python and anaconda as well as others like Saharan sand viper and such. Are there better parts of the snake to use??

Check out Glimmerznmore.com. They have the best selection of skin types in blanks. Cobra, monitor lizard, python, etc.

Be careful. Some tanning processes make it so the PR doesn't stick to the skin well which causes your final product to be fragile. Sadly I don't know anything about tanning so can't tell you what to watch out for.
