I just got some really great looking snake wood blanks and found out that they have not been stabilized. My question: do they have to be stabilized before turning?
Previous discussions on the subject have indicated that snakewood cannot be stabilized. Additionally, the snakewood can be a challenge when it comes to cracking. There was a good discussion of snakewood in the show off your pen forum a few weeks back. Check it out.
