We just got another set of snake skin blanks, and one of the blanks the scales seem to be floating in the resin. The floating scales broke the surface of the resin before we got to the sanding stage. We always leave extra material proud of the bushings to sanding room. Is there any way to salvage the blanks or do we need "ooppss" bands on them?

Thanks

If you are doing a large pen, like a Gent, the resin can be thin over the scales. Just dousing the exposed area with CA and carefully turning down from there, or just polishing down will [usually] save the pen.
