I've made this pen from brown burl mallee wood about a week ago but when I went to pack the pen(I sold it today)to my horror I see a small crack on the bottom of the pen(see photo, sorry not great photo)I turned it and applied 15 coats of thin CA and no problems,I checked out the quality etc and it was perfect. The surface of the pen is perfect,it seems to be the wood underneath.
What am I going to do?what do I say to this customer?is this a problem with this type of wood?I have another similar blank, will I have the same problem?
Please help,any ideas.

Burls are inherently unstable Pat. One school of thought is to stabilize them. Sometimes they may not be as dry as we'd hoped they were!!
