Hi,

The satin finish that i tried held well execpt for the satin gold.
Any enamel plating will flake eventually, specially if they are in contact with other items, like other pens. From the cheap slimline, to the cigar pen (center band) and sierra (nib holder). At leat they all did at one time for me.

The other finishes hold on pretty well, specially the chrome and black chrome.

The painted (black enamel) will scratch and chip as will the satins. Satin nickel hs sone best for me as far as the satins go. CA fumes seem to react with the satins more so than others. Leave pens with CA finishes out of cases for a couple of days to allow the CA to completely outgas. CA causing tarnishing on pens has always wiped off for me. I would stay away from the black enamel and other painted finishes.
Do a good turn daily!
Don

Anyone have problems with the silver or gold satins?

As far as least amount of flaking, chrome, black chrome or gun metal would be the winners?
