I just got my skewchigouge yesterday. How do you sharpen it? I have a wolverine for my regular tools, but nothing that will do that concave surface.

Any tips on using it? The phrase "catchproof" sent me scurrying to buy one, since the skew is giving me ulcers. I just bought a new 1" skew with rounded sides and it is much easier to use, but I am still very apprehensive about using it.

The skewchigouge looks like the answer to a maiden's prayer

If it's a round bar tool, I think it is more like a gouge with a fingernail grind, but no flute like a gouge. In that case, I would think you could sharpen the bottom bevel just like you would a gouge, using the wolverine you already have and the vari-grind accessory. I don't think you would need to sharpen the top surface, but you may need to hone to remove the grinding burr.

Edit - should be similar to this:

If it's like Sorby's spindlemaster (http://www.robert-sorby.co.uk/spindlemaster.htm), they recommend to sharpen on the top flat surface and not the bevel.
