Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm a real novice.

I want to create a groove with small parting tool and inlay brass or silver. If you inlay with (square) wire, how do you make the seam invisible where the circle completes?

Thanks

Dave

I wouldn't use wire if what you're doing is trying to make a small cirle of brass/silver on a pen. I would cut the blank in half at the place where you want the brass/silver, and then glue a piece of 3/4" x 3/4" of brass/silver sheet between the two pieces of wood.

Silver sheet would be expensive. You might consider the less costly nickel-silver - which contains no silver, but has a silver-like shine when polished.

I'm considering using brass and nickel-silver for some upcoming segmented pens I'm going to make.
