Made my first Sierra tonight, looked at it close after assembly and the barrell looked OOR.. then looking closer, its not OOR, but there is play in the tube end where it pushes onto the nib assembly area. Tried switching the end cap, it went on nice and tight, so the tube seems fine.

Is there anyway to "tighten" up the nib assembly area a bit to loose the OOR look from having play in it?

Thanks!

If you haven't done so yet, lightly hit the end of the tube with your barrel trimmer by hand. (or just stand it up on a sheet of fine sand paper and gently rotate it). You may have just a tiny nub or piece of finish that is keeping it from squareing up.

A second trick that I've seen here is to screw the tranny all the way in, then back it off about 1/2 to 1 one turn. Press the tube on, then use it to screw the tranny back down tight. That seemed to help with one I had that just didn't quite want to pull together.

Hope this helps,

Steve
