Made my first sierra click pen last week and when finished found that the tip of the refill came out of the end to far (in my opinion) and when it was retracted it was right at the end of the tip. My thinking was that I trimmed the barrel to much, but I am very careful when trimming. Decided to try another one and the same thing happened. Although on the second one when trimming the barrel I was extra careful not to take ANY of the brass off. Same issue when finished. I added a few pictures. Any suggestions. I measured the brass tube and it measured 2.423" when I got it. My finished barrel measured 2.421".

Click mechanism works fine on both of the pens. I always use a wood block with a hole when assembling any click pens.

Is the kit a true Berea Sierra Click ? . Sometimes knock-offs have this happen.

The problem could relate to the batch of refills used in that particular run of kits.
This may not happen with other refills.

You can carefully sand a little off the black plastic end of the refill.

Hadn't thought of sanding the back end of the refill off. Might try that. I tried the original refill that came with it and a real Parker refill. Both were the same. It was a Berea.
