but first let me share what I did up to this point .

I squared the blank with my drill with a barrel trimmer. high speed medium pressure.

I when processed to cut down the blank with a carbon tip [woodchucker] . I stopped at .480. I was making a sierra blank [.474] I started to wet sand 400 grit within half minute it get the results below. :frown:



CAn you advise me as to how this is happening as it has happen several time now. thanks

so it broke sanding? Ive never had that happen.
so it looks like upon closer inspection its mother of pearl strips cast?
if so i bet they separated with the heat.
so drip thin CA into your ends after using your barrel trimmer. hairline cracks can eventually blow up a piece
