With all the interest in one-piece pens, I saw a post by Ron (Rhossack) about a cigar pen mandrel, and I remember someone posting a message about how to turn down the center couplers with a mandrel???

Many searches have failed to turn up that post...
Can anybody point me in the right direction???

Just now on the home page/recent post page the post is the next one above yours. Actually, it is in the 'shops, jigs, fixtures, and tools' forum.

I hold the coupler with my Beall Collet chuck and turn it down with a parting tool, or press it into a cigar tube and grind it down on my grinder, using the tube as the handle...be careful...it can get hot this way.

The mandrel is an excellent idea.

Do a good turn daily!
Don
