I just saw Roy's White Antler Emperor with an Indian feather scrimshawed. A beautiful pen.

CAn any of you out their that have scrimshawed is it better to use the larger style kits Emperor, or Statesmen, or Churchill. Verses the smaller kits?

Would the art work become lost in a small Baron kit?

thanks

Hey there, I have done a few scrimshaw pens and I have used the 7mm steamline to the majestic rollerball. even used buffalo horn. if you have a steady hand and the right tool, you can scrim on the smallest of surfaces. now, from experience, scrimming on a round surface is the toughest. it's easy to slip and once the scare is there it's tough to remove. if you are going to give it a try...try on a flat surface first and read all you can on the subject. there are plenty of sites out there on this American art form.

I have some piano keys that work real well. PM me.

good luck,
Laurie
