I started to make a sandpaper rack in my shop today and stopped. How about some input for me? I plan to pick up some MM sooner or later too. What size is everyones sandpaper strips that they use? It looks like the MM is 3", but that seems pretty wide to me. I had been folding mine 2" squares into 1", but I have gone to 1" strips. Do you all cut down your MM?? Anyway, what is the common size you all use? It would be eaiser to make the rack now than to wish I made the slots wider later on.

I have been buying the 6X12 sheets of MM here:
http://www.woodchipshome.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=WC&Product_Code=MMKG1&Category_Code=MM8
and cut them to 1X3.

I use 1 1/2" wide rolls from Klingspor. I just hang them on a PVC pipe and tear off about 3-4" of each grit at a time and that gets through a few pens.
I use the pad for MM so the sheets are about 2x3 to wrap around it.
