I live in Ohio, and fountain pens just do not sell. Rollerballs sell very well.

Unless I upgrade the nib, I sell them for the same price (all else being equal).

Pat; Most people have never used a fountain pen, don't know how to clean or adjust a fountain pen, and just don't want the hassel of having to refill or change cartrages. Add to this that people just don't write letters anymore. Most fountain pens I make are made with the better pen kits and blanks aimed at the higher priced user. The people who buy fountain pens, will buy more than one, they display them or collect them, and enjoy writing with them. I will usualy make a matching set with a rollerball or mechical pencel and place it in a custom box. More for display than use. Jim S
