Even if it can be done...should you?

RB is used on capped pens because it will dry up if left open. Putting it on a Sierra will do just that.

Hi Rudy,
A customer requested a Sierra with a roller ball refill. As pointed by Dario the Sierra without a cap (even if it can be modified), will dry out the roller ball refill. I will try out the gel refill.
Thanks

As Mike pointed out, there are rollerball refills that can be left uncapped for extended periods of time and the Sierra twist could be modified to accept the longer refill; but it would be a difficult conversion. OTOH, it would be very simple to modify a Sierra Button Click pen to use a rollerball refill.

I use Parker gel refills in my Sierra pens and they write like a rollerball and the ink flows very nicely. People who really like rollerballs, like me, find that they write really well.

I am going for the Parker gel refills. Thanks for the input from everyone. This is a great forum when you are lost in the wilderness.
Many thanks
