I would like to engrave a pictures on the fountain pen barrel and cap (ebonite and acrylics) and want to fill it with color. The engraving will be much more larger than text, so I think it could be very proof for sweat etc due to contact with hand. I don't want laquer this, because I don't want to lose a nice ebonite feeling.
I was reading about acrylic paints, rub n buff etc, but I'm not sure that it is enought robust to endure a few years without corrections.

Does anyone has any ideas, what will be work in this case ?

Regards
Przemek

I use fabric paint. It's made to go through the washing machine. I get more of an inlay look since I fill the engraving flush. Actually over fill and then wet sand with a micro mesh file to flush.

Thanks for the clue.

Have anybody tried to use a oil markers ? Maybe it's not professional, but can be quite "clean" and convenient.
