Replacing the lower black fitting of the Sierra?

Has anyone tried replacing the black lower fitting of the Sierra with a turned replacement piece? I'd like to get some Sierra kits and try it. What would be the problems encountered with that idea?

Someone did that a few months ago, try searching the archives. If I remember correctly it involved step drilling with two different size tubes.

Only problem I could see being encountered is the fact the transmission screws into that lower barrel part. If you could figure out a way to part off the threads and then press fit it into the new bottom piece it should work and look great.

OK - I found it - the Cigerra. Interesting idea. I think I'll give it a try.

John, I did one as well, and it was such a PITA that I will likely not attempt it again. I don't know how Darin did it, but...
