I have some older Churchill pens in use out there and once in a while one comes back with the nib coupler broken. Common problem with this kit. I have been replacing with the all metal coupler available at Berea. Haven't had much of a problem until a closed end pen came back. There have been posts about removing this part in a closed end pen since you can't just knock it out through the other end which is normally open. I removed the nib using a 3/8 fine thread bolt. I tapped the plastic to 3/8 fine and put a filler piece of rod in the empty tube. Screwed the 3/8 bolt in onto the filler and the thing pressed right out by continuing to screw the bolt into the coupler and onto the filler rod. No problems. I tried screwing the nib into the remaining threads inside the coupler and pulling out by hand, but you could not budge the coupler that way. Just thought somebody would want to know.
