I had this one assembled but hated the blank.
So, I figured even if I destroyed the click mechanism getting it out, I would be no worse off. When I hammered the click end out it did shatter the outer shell of the clicker.
However, I discovered that the mechanism still worked...amazing.
Anyway, what the shattered part did was guide the end of the refill as it moved up and down.
So, I cut off what looked like the threaded remains of the outer shell and evened up the end. Then I turned and drilled a section that guided the refill and fit snug over the remaining click mechanism. It was also sized to fit neatly inside the brass tube. It works fine out of the pen blank so now I can create a better blank and assemble it again.
In the top image, what is left of the threaded outer shell can be seen. Does anyone know why it has OD threads? Maybe used for some other kit?
