Removal of Dome on Sierra Twist Finial

I seem to recall there was some info posted on how to remove the dome at the top end of a Sierra twist.

Have been searching the IAP website and Library without success.

Can anyone point me to this information, or tell me how to do it, please ?

I think the technique involves putting the finial in a tapered hole and using a punch/hammer to bash the dome out. . Would this work ? . Would prefer a somewhat more refined method if there is such a method.
