I've had an idea kicking around in my head for a couple of months now and think I'm ready to try it. My wife just picked up a couple of bricks of clay for me today, but one color is Fimo brand and the other color is Sculpey III. I'm planning on blending them together, as long as I knead and soften them both, will it matter that they are different brands? The baking instructions are also different, one says to bake at 275 for 15 minutes, the other calls for 230 degrees for 30 minutes. Which should I use? The blank will have a pretty even amount of each color. About a month ago, somebody mentioned boiling the clay instead of baking it; any further thoughts or details about that method? Last question, do I need to prep the tubes in any way before wrapping them? (Having just made an acrylic pencil without painting the tube, I'm a bit more cautious...) Thanks for any direction that you guys can give me.
