question on drill bits

hi guys not sure if this is the right place to ask this but here it goes i need to know what the standard size is for a 8mm drill bit.i have a step down drill pack but not sure what size would be the same size as a 8mm

5/16" is 0.3125" which is close to 8 mm, which is 0.31496" and i frequently use one of these. the closet to 8 mm would be an "O" drill which is 0.316" which is what some kits call for using 8mm tubes. hope this helps
