Question about Comfort pens

If I don't plan on using the rubber cone for the comfort pens, can I just turn a mid bushing the same size as mid band or make what ever sized bushing I wish[)]

The short answer is yes. I've made a few from slim line kits with custom center bands from wood and corian by just putting the small piece between the barrels and not using a center bushing. I use a short piece of tube (not glued) inside the center band to keep it centered on the mandrel. It is basically the same as a comfort pen without paying extra for the rubber thing that I throw away.

Yes you can make the comfort without the rubber area. The bushings I use is the cap and middle have the same bushing and the nib uses a bushing similar to what I call a spacer or a bushing from a slimline
