PVC for pens?

Hi Folks.
I was looking at Bev's website (awesome work, Bev! )
I noticed some PVC pens.

(Here's where I show myself to be the total rookie turner that I am)[:I]

Are these types of pens made from actual small PVC pipes or are they something else? I'm really interested in finding out.

Den, This link will give you some basic information and also a link where you can buy it. It comes in colored solid rods of varying diameters. I have ordered it before and the company is very easy to deal with. The only drawback is that you have to buy in 5 foot lengths.
