I am not sure what is going on but it seems that purple heart is photo sensitive, the pen I turned when kept out of the light turns brown when re-exposed to broad spectrum light it turns dark redish/purple again.
I know prolonged exposure will turn it brown again. I thought it was interesting that it can change several times.
