A friend asked me to make some pens out of wood that was used in the floors of a building that is sacred to both of us. He wants to give them to others who serve there. The wood is plantation-grown Philippine mahogany. He wanted them alike; with gold trim.

So, I went on a bit of a production run. Cut, drilled, epoxied tubes in all of them; turned, sanded and trim sanded all of them; finished and assembled all of them. Three separate operations on three separate days. (Not in a row, because I do have a life.....)

Along the way I learned a bit and as a result I have modified my procedures, so it was all very worthwhile. One of the things I love about this hobby is the opportunity to learn and improve, and to never settle for less than my best. My thanks to many of you on this forum for helping me in that process.
