I am making my 1st JR Gent. I got it and the instructions from "timberbits". The instructions are a little vague. It has a short, sqatty, spring. I don't know where to put it! Assembled the cartridge does not clear the writing nib at all. I have a dozen to make any suggestions?

Thought that was the answer just didn't want to try and lose another spring. Anybody know where I can order a couple of those springs? I ran over 1 with my wheel chair.

I do have some that work... not tapered like the original but I tried them in a couple of rollerballs and they worked fine. PM me an address and how many you need.

You might note that some fountain pen kits have that spring installed. Naturally, fountain pens do not need this spring. You might check your on-hand stock and see if you have the spring that you need.
