Hey All,

I need to run a 220 line to my table saw. The saw sits in the center of my shop. I am trying to decide the best way to get power to it. I have considered running the line through the attic and dropping it from the ceiling, but it seems like it would be in the way. I have also considered running it on the floor with one of those rubber cover things that holds the cord in place and helps prevent you from tripping.

What do Y'all recommend: From the ceiling, or across the floor?

I also have to get a dust collection pipe ran to it. Any suggestions?

Also, what is that rubber cord cover thingy called and where can I find one?

Thanks for the input,
Steve

I have done it both ways. Never had a problem with overhead...ran it down at the end of the table...

If I was doing a new shop, would probably go overhead.

I don't have ANY cords on the floor. ALL my power is overhead. Too much of a tripping hazard on the floor. Look closely at the pics I sent you and you'll see what I mean.

Tough call... Seems like it would end up in the way, no matter what.

I have a TS that is mobil. I put the 220 outlet in the wall and then had a electrician make up a heavy duty extension cord. Now when I need it I pull the saw to the middle of the floor use the extension and when I'm done unplug it push the saw back and hang up the cord. It works real good for me and my shop .
