I purchased a small PC and oven for myself and would like to start coating some casings. I have looked at several sites for ordering powder. There are several type of clear. Matte, semi gloss, high gloss. Which degree of gloss is best on the casings? Does anyone have a preference on which powders are bese? I have read several of the tutorial and will be trying on some extra casings. Any help would be appricatated.

Well, like anything it's all personal preference, but when I see a bullet casing, I like it to shine. But, I also like CA finishes. I'd go with the high gloss if you're using a CA finish on the wood above it. If you're into CA/BLO, then possibly a semi-gloss.

I think it's important to have a similar shine on the shell and whatever material (wood-antler) is mated with it. You don't really want the bullet to get more attention than the turning and you don't want the bullet to look like it needs to be polished.
