Portland Oregon

I am in Portland until Saturday morning for work (planned a free day on Friday , hoping to find a good wood source while I'm here. I come from South Florida so do not get this opportunity often. Any advice?

I was in Portland a few years ago and enjoyed visiting Gilmer Wood Company

Thanks Jeff, I will look them up. Went to a company south of Portland today who manufacture custom wood ceilings, they give away all their scrap and had some amazing wood! boy I wish I was closer. Anyone in this area lookup 9wood.com. They have all there scraps available for the taking! I picked up some beautiful reclaimed Jakarta! I just couldn't take enough as I couldn't carry it home!

I live near Portland but haven't heard of 9woods before. That sounds pretty sweet!

If you're up for a bit of a longer drive there is a place near forest grove called North Woods Figured Woods that has a lot of burl. Some pen blanks and a lot of bowls.
