Stephen that is a darn good question. I would say as long as there is not a lot of heat produced while you are doing it...it would work. Polymer needs a protective coating (i.e. CA, lacquer, etc.) for durability. If this can be done after the engraving then again I don't see why it wouldn't work. I would be an exciting experiment! Let me know if you give it a try as I am very interested in the results.
